This activity belongs to collection "Special Education" and aims to familiarize children 4-12 years old with the humanoid NAO.

Description

NAO shows what it can do. First, it sits, talks while waving its arms, and changes the color of its LEDs. Then it stands up, walks around the room, shows its hands and fingers, and ends by saying that it's time to play with the children.

Steps

The activity begins with NAO standing upright at a distance of 50-80 cm from the children.
Classroom layout: students sit in an amphitheater style or in a way that allows everyone to see the robot. A large table is needed to place the NAO on.
In the case of students with ASD or SLI, individual intervention is recommended for each student. A large table is needed to place the NAO. It is necessary to visualize the process beforehand and include it in the student's visualization program. Preparation is also important, and it is recommended that a short social story be created.
